What is Counselling?
Counselling is a professional relationship, between a client and a counsellor. It is a chance for a client to discuss their issues in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space. The counsellor will work cooperatively with a client, to help them to explore ways in which they can move forward in their lives.
Abacus Counsellors are qualified to Diploma Level (Stage 3) or above. We are also a training placement, for trainee therapists.
Abacus counsellors have Professional Indemnity Insurance and are DBS checked.
Counsellors are members of a professional body such as the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) or NCS (National Counselling Society)
Our Therapeutic Approaches
Abacus counsellors are qualified in a range of therapies. This allows them to tailor the sessions to meet the needs of the client, by drawing on a range of different therapeutic models.
